Dean of the Engineering, Computing & Applied Sciences College at Clemson

Anand Gramopadhye serves as the dean of Clemson University’s largest college, the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences, which has 12 academic departments with 350 faculty, 250 staff, an enrollment of over 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students and approximately $50 million in annual research expenditures. His work in science, technology, engineering and math was highlighted by the U.S. National Science Board and has focused on fostering partnerships with industry, foundations, and federal and international partners to make a transformative impact on engineering education, research and innovation in communities that need it most. He received his bachelor’s degree from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), University of Mumbai, India in 1987 and a doctoral degree from the University at Buffalo in the United States.

Clemson University, based in Clemson, SC, served as our academic partner throughout the creation of Engineering Leadership. The leadership of Dean Gramopadhye and Clemson’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Science provided unwavering insight, support and idea creation to infuse these leadership skills into current engineering students learnings. Together, Clemson University and Engineering Leadership are now poised to prepare the next generation of engineers—and current engineers—with the leadership skills to achieve success in life and business.
